Shown here is the latest 3D print (6th) of my Point Abino Lighthouse SketchUp model.
Printed on a brand new Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Printer with AMS. The model took 2 hours 34 minutes and 25 grams PLA+ filament. Layer height 0.1 mm, 15% in-fill, no supports or brim/island and the rest of the settings as default. Printed on a textured build plate.
The model scale is approximately 1 mm to 1 foot (scale ~1:360). Height of the model is 86 mm (33/8 inches)
I mounted the model on a Oak flooring sample from Home Depot. I used my Grandfather's (Opa in German) traditional homemade stain to blacken the Oak.
The hollow model is designed to fit a 5mm LED in the lantern room. A 1.5 volt battery (AAA) will fit in the tower and electronics inside rear building. I'm working on the electronics based on a Joule Thief circuit.
I've decided not to paint and to leave the model as is. There were many technical challenges and failed prints to get to this point, but I pleased with the way it turned out.
